For Game Makers
Note that if you would like to request a game translation be stopped and have proper evidence you are representing the company who owns it, I will listen to your advice and cease translation out of respect. At least, most likely. Depends on how rude you are and how much you threaten. You catch more flies with honey. By the way, nothing I am doing is illegal unless the game is licensed in my home country. Until that point there is no intellectual property right and no applicable contractual EULA that I am required to follow. Similarly, the question of modification is difficult to prosecute anyway – particularly when handling a EULA from another country. For the record, I do not plan to ever distribute ROMs. So, really, unless you license, I am in no real danger, but I will cease translation ANYWAY provided you ask nicely and don’t bluff lawsuits. We can resolve this with one quick email quite peacefully. If the project is already done and you would like me to take down the translation patch links, I will do so. But the blog will stick around.
If you DO license a product – I will immediately stop translation and remove all download links to the translation patches.
For everyone else
Ask me for ROMs and I will ban you from my site. Period. End of discussion. Not only will the patches be unavailable to you, you won’t be able to read my witty dialogue or fall in love with my charming personality. =P
